COPE Visiting Researcher Programme

At COPE, we welcome visiting researchers on an ongoing basis and value the exchange of ideas that emerge from international collaboration. Scholars interested in spending part of their sabbatical or conducting focused research are invited to contact us to explore possibilities for a visit.

Visitors are provided with office space, library access, and the opportunity to engage deeply with the ongoing work of the Center. They receive consultation and feedback on their research, as well as the chance to contribute to joint publications, grant applications, and other activities together with COPE researchers. Visitors are also encouraged to participate in seminars, research meetings, workshops, and in some cases, may be invited to deliver guest lectures through the affiliated Master of Disaster Management Programme (MDMa).

In general, visitors are encouraged to begin their stay in September or January to align with the autumn and spring semesters. Please note that there is a limited number of visiting researcher positions available each semester, and applicants are advised to reach out well in advance. Visitors are responsible for covering all costs during their stay, including travel, accommodation, and insurance.

To apply, please forward an updated CV and a brief cover letter outlining your current research areas and activities, your motivation for becoming a Visiting Researcher, and the preferred dates for your stay in Copenhagen. Applications can be sent to Emmanuel Raju or directly to one of the COPE researchers you would like to collaborate with.

We look forward to welcoming motivated researchers who share our commitment to advancing understanding of disasters, climate change, and resilience.
