Inaugural Lecture by Professor Olivier Rubin
“The talk builds on my twenty years of experiences with disaster and crisis research. Specifically, the talk focuses on how to understand and analyse crises with prolongated temporalities such as famines, antimicrobial resistance, climate change and pandemics. Their perpetual nature and elusive beginnings and ends produce distinct vulnerabilities and pose unique challenges to policymaking and crisis response. The talk also discusses the opportunities for this kind of research to feed into crisis and emergency management practices" - Olivier Rubin
