COPE Socials: The bounded agencies of young people’s everyday climate crisis activism

The growing climate crisis has shown how children and young people can be a political force to be reckoned with. While Greta Thunberg and many other young climate activists from around the world personify this force, there is another – largely hidden – story to be told about the everyday practices that young people adopt, in our homes, in our schools and in local communities to respond to environmental concerns. In this COPE-social Morten Skovdal will elaborate on the bounded agency of young people’s everyday climate crisis activisms, drawing on a recently published special issue in Children’s Geographies (2021, issue 3) and also introduce a new COPE study that seeks to unleash young people’s climate awareness, agency and action in Tanzania.
