Call for papers: The End of Place as We Know It

Changing Disasters' visiting research professor, Rune Graulund, has organized a conference 17-19 September at University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, entitled The End of Place as We Know It: Shifting Perspectives on Literature and Place. There is currently a call for papers out.

The core focus of the three-day conference is examining a theory of 'place' as being an unstable phenomenon in modern times, in literary and academic discourse as well as physically and socially. The keynote speakers are Professor Edward Casey and Professor Timothy Morton.

The conference invites paper submissions in a wide range of topics, such as mobility, the inhuman, digital place, scale, apocalypse, imaginary place and more.

Please send a 300 word abstract to Professor Rune Graulund, rune.graulund@strath.ac.uk, by April 15, 2014, if you wish to submit a paper to the conference.
