End of Place ended

Back in March we posted a news item advertising a call for papers for a conference held at Stratchclyde University called The End of Place as We Know It: Shifting Perspectives on Literature and Place

The End of Place was successfully held last week, 17 - 19 September 2014.

This conference was organized by a member of Changing Disasters, visiting professor Rune Graulund, and the research center was represented at the conference with several members including Isak Winkel Holm, Elsa Alves and Peer Illner. The papers presented by our researchers touched on topics as diverse as photographic and scientific representations of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, prophetic messages in the HBO series True Detective, and spatialism through the optics of Heidegger's localism.

In case you missed it, here's the book of abstracts (PDF) via the University of Strathclyde's conference site.
